The Raven
The Raven is a narrative poem written by Edgar Allan Poe, it makes part of his most famous poetic compositions since it gave him international recognition. The poem is written in first person point of view. This emphasizes the personal experiences of the narrator and brings the reader closer to the narrator’s intimate details. The Raven narrates the visit of a mysterious bird to the room of man who is pain because his beloved has passed away. It first starts with a tapping of his chamber door and then, it continues on his window, later on the man decided to see what was happening, at that moment a raven enters his room. Amused for the behavior of the bird, the man asks for his name. The only answer of the bird was: nevermore. The man gets surprised at the birds ability to speak. He also comments that his “friend”, the raven, will soon fly away of his life, just as other friends of him have flown before, along with his hopes. As if answering the
